Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Another week, another record attendance and another community project accelerated due to your graft. Boom. 19 GoodGym beauts this week, that's 3 more than last week, so an almost 20% increase. In theory that means that we got almost 20% more work done...this was evident in last night's Paintathlon. Absolutely stormed that place, like a tsunami of white paint, a tornado of tippex, an avalanche of....okay - you get the picture.
Our three new runners this week were: Jade , Andy and Graham. I'm sure we all agree in saying that we hoped you enjoyed your first task. Be great to have you back for more. Graham left with paint on his face like a true decorator, however, how can we be sure it wasn't toothpaste from a rushed morning? Jade got stuck into the running circuits even though it was her first time doing intervals. Andy painted rapidly and fastidiously, got much done.
This week's random question was average at best, you have me to blame for this. Please send me ideas for next week, something with a brief answer ideally. We did all learn a little about our team mates' sense of humour. From Harry Hill to Bill Bailey to Billy Connoly and even Andy Carr.
The exactly 1 mile journey to Mobile Garden City was over in a flash. A quick talk by Lawrence (Community bike shop director) about his project and what he's offering the locals. A chance to learn about bike maintenance on courses and get repairs done for free (if you need). Quite a tremendous thing to do, plus he's got a nine to five as well, so hat's off to him. The large shipping container with a wooden wall interior, underwent a rapid transformation by you guys. You whitewashed that massive metal box in 35 minutes. That would've taken a solo painter 1 day at least. James correctly noted that it would've taken a caterpillar even longer, indisputable - that's a fair point J.
We downed tools, said our goodbyes and then partook in a short 'Crank Up' Interval. Finding another gear on the return leg of your out and back run. Just over 3 mins of running later and all I could hear was the harmony of heavy breathing, plus a feeling of satisfaction in the air.
Finishing off with the monthly social, pizza and beer was consumed, laughter was heard and we didn't get kicked out Crate for not being trendy enough - WIN.
See you all at next week's run
Oh and the Parkrun on 4th March in Mile End. Sign up here please.
