SESSION ORGANISER
Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Joel Wiles
16 artistic GoodGymers ran 5.5k to Hackney Caribbean Elderly society and painted our hearts out in 45 action packed minutes!
A warm and breezy East London evening met the crew this week. With a big task ahead we hide our stride early running 2.7k strongly towards Stoke Newington. After a little nervous wait (for me) outside ringing the bell we got cracking with the task.
We were helping to revamp an unused room to help fund the some of the charities activities with some of the boroughs elderly residents.
We started with a heavy dose of team sanding to smooth over the walls and tapping off the fittings while Phil stirred and poured the paint ready for action.
Splitting into mini teams everyone got stuck in painting high and low with rollers and brushes in perfect unison we were getting great coverage at a spectacular pace!
We a mini unit of Joanna and Peter sprucing up the entrance hall even adding a splash of the GoodGym signature Red as our calling card to the front door!
With time running short we clicked into overdrive and even managed to paint the corridor as well as cut in the edges in the big room to round off a big time task performance!!
A speedy exit only slightly slowed by Anna's campaign to bring back the name and number ritual! We pushed the tempo on the run back to sneak back just in time! A few static stretches and a round of applause and we were off to clean up and rehydrate!!
Thanks for coming along and giving such a great effort! Hope to see you all next week when we work our delicate painting skills in De Beauvoir Square.
Don't forget Hackney Social after the session on the 1st of August!!
