Last night saw a duo of tasks for GoodGym Stockport. One saw 6 GoodGymers sledgehammering, digging and heavy lifting for the great residents at Turning Point in Wythenshawe. While the other was a Belle of the ball which saw Meera dressed up to the nines at Stockport Rocks award ceremony where GoodGym Stockport had been nominated for Volunteer Team of the Year Award.

Rob, from Turning Point had been in touch months prior to request help for a plot of land they were planning to transform into a haven for residents at the center. As a result of securing us as volunteers for the task, to clear the land, the local councillors agreed funding to aid the project which was amazing news!

The plot was filled with gravel, large flags and wooden post and our aim was to reduce it all down to ground level and turn the soil.

An hour, and lots of sweat later, the task was complete! Shout out to Alana for getting stuck into her first task!

It was lovely to have the opportunity to meet the residents who will benefit from the garden and we look forward to seeing the finished area.
