Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
18 intrepid GoodGymers ventured across Borough lines and ran 6k to help St Luke's Church in Hackney.
On a Chilly evening in Tower Hamlets and after a last second task change the wonderful people of St Luke's Church were able to take us in for the evening and provide a mainly warm but definitely rewarding range of tasks for us.
We welcomed 4 brand new GoodGymers on their maiden voyage and talked through life's adventures with the core TH crew!
Running a solid 2.5k to St Luke's mixing in some main roads and back streets on what some would say was a slightly random route (I would say spontaneous). We arrived in perfect time and meet Keli and Kathleen who were looking after us for the evening.
3 Bold runners ran off into the night to run an additional 2k around the local estate putting up 50 Posters for the Church's up coming community activities with Kathleen.
3 more hardy volunteers gloved up and loaded bag after bag of leafs to clear the gardens of the fallen vegetation. 35 minutes of furious bagging the speedsters collected 16 bags of leafs making a real dent into the gardening!
The rest of the squad got into some deep cleaning action and also set up the under 5's community soft play group for the morning. A load of high dusting, scrubbing, and vacuuming got the Church looking sparkling clean.
After a mass bin leaf drop we said our goodbyes and headed off on a scenic 3.5k loop back taking in some of the more beautiful real estate in East London.
A stretch out and we were done!
Look forward to seeing everyone next week when we head out to Mayflower School for some gardening in Popular!! Sign up here
