This evening we ran around 4km to promote a sports event in Wandle Park

Weird weather – we seem to be alternating roasting sunshine with cold and wet at the moment – and it was very wet today! So an intrepid six runners headed out towards Wandle Park where we posted 300 leaflets advertising a free sports event in Wandle Park on Sunday 6th of August from 12-5pm. So if you are free then why don’t you pop along. Not much to say about leafleting today really – no barking ferocious dogs, angry residents or odd signs but it’ll be a task worth doing if we have help encourage the people of Croydon to head to the park on the 6th.

Maria got stuck at work but despite having the opportunity and a valid excuse she headed down to find us in the rain and although the task had pretty much finished she had @fun@ at the fitness session. I had a lovely session planned for the park but given the weather we headed to the underpass instead and did a circuit class in the rain. 8 exercises for 2 minutes each and working them from top to toe. They all worked really hard and there were even some smiles. Afterwards we had to venture back out into the rain to return to the start where we sneaked inside to do the stretches as we’d had enough of the rain by then.

Next Tuesday’s run will be heading towards South Norwood tohelp promote the Clocktower Market and also Stanley Halls.

Don’t forget to sign up to run, volunteer or cheer at South Norwood Parkrun on Saturday 15th of July. Remember you need to register with parkrun itself to get your barcode too.
