With regular run leader Terrific Tom away on his hols, the not so Slick Sam led proceedings this week.

We ran to Regather, the likes of Swift Suze and Super Sarah taking the opportunity to fartlek between the lamp posts on The Moor on the way there.

Gallant Gareth of Regather fame then went through the tasks with everyone.

  • Painting. Grey paint over old graffiti. 2 sides. Race!
  • Root racing. 2 hefty roots to remove.
  • Re-homing rosemary & other plants too.
  • Hoeing
  • Litter picking

The paint crew duly painted the lower section of the Regather HQ wall in record time. Spider-Man Mike made sure the hard to reach bits were duly reached.

Both roots succumbed to the stubbornness of the roots manuva crews, which means no root at Regather has yet defeated us. One of them took slightly over the time limit, but it was worth the wait.

The rain then set in, but it was warm summer rain - so that was okay. We did a few circuits of Regather, which included:

  • Lunges
  • Sumo squats
  • Tri dips

...before heading off for a bit of a detour back to The Showroom, in which we did a few hill sprints.

The group ran just over 5k all in, including those pesky hills, finishing with stretches and a drink in the bar as usual.

Normal service will return next week with the return of Tom.

A trading co-operative helping people work together, support each other and make projects happen. Social action centre by day and intimate events venue by night.

Regather is a community benefit society working to improve food and build community in Sheffield. We run an organic farm, veg box scheme, and many other community projects. In our organisation, we centre our work around care for our environment and the people in our community. Our objects are to foster community development and understanding around the importance of the local food system in Sheffield and how it works, in order to enable everyone to work together to democratically change their food system for the better.
