A RECORD 24 Terrific goodgymer's ran 5km to a local co-op to help weed a community garden ready for future seeding!

Cor Blimey, what a turn out!

We had a record 24 turnout on last nights Regather Run, so fantastic to see so many people coming along to @GGSheff and contributing to their local community and doing good whilst getting fit! We really are getting to the stage where we can accomplish so much in such a small space of time with such large numbers and committed individuals! Great work everyone!

After a short 'Squat Brief' (look out for more of these in the future), we left our now established home of the Showroom Cinema and ran to Regather with Dave as our trusty back marker!

Once on site we met GORGEOUS GARETH who talked us through the task and what needed to be done. After pointing out things to watch out for we got tooled up for the task and got to it weeding, brushing, ho-ing and litter picking our way with a scorched earth policy ready for the area to be developed in the future when we come back to plant seeds!

During the task it was great to have a local neighbor of the flats over looking the area stop on his way past to say thank you for our work and how he really appreciated our work!

On completion of the task we got straight into the fitness part of the session with a bit of a surprise twist this week which may be seen in future tasks...

The cards were dealt

Using a stack of cards with a number of exercises on them we did a solid 15min session incorporating all of the below exercises;

*Mountain Climbers

*Press Up's

*PLANK

*Squat

*Tri Dip's

*Sumo Squat

*Tuck Jump

*Burpees

*Leg Raise

*Squat 180

*Split Lunge

*Goblet Squat

*Star Jumps

*Inch Worms

*LUNGE

*Squat Jump

*Wall Sit

*Clock Lunge

It was a fantastic effort from all, with everyone working to their own limits and plenty of red faces at finish! Great effort from all!

Following the fitness session we ran back to the Showroom to stretch off with some curious onlookers and heard from Sam and Kat on their Coach run experiences and then headed in for some post run refreshment and doc checking!

During this weeks run we were fortunate to have the wonderful skills of Journalism student and TASK FORCE member Abbie take some video footage and even found the time after the run to edit it so it could go in the run report! Thanks so much Abbie, you are a star!

Check out Abbie's great work here

There is a Mission this weekend for those that are around. 5 people are already signed up including our GG neighbors from York! More details here.

Don't forget to sign up for next weeks run to the Abbeydale Picture House here
