Today we ran between 5 and 6 km delivering flyers in Addiscombe for the upcoming South Norwood Community Festival

The South Norwood Community Festival is an 8 day community event and we delivered flyers along one of the longest residential roads in Croydon to help promote the event. We split into 4 teams and worked our way along Davidson Road taking care to avoid yapping dogs and the “No Junk Mail” signs. One of our favourites was one which stated No uninvited callers…. unless you’re selling cookies”! After we’d finished posting the flyers we headed over to the Addiscombe Railway Park which is looked after by the Friends of Addiscombe Railway Park

Our aims this evening were to work on our core stability, balance and improving our speed. After the first set of squats, and single-leg squats Danielle mentioned that she loved lunges….. so after some more resistance work and timed sprints up a gentle slope we headed up another incline doing walking lunges. On the way back to Solutions we incorporated some stretches of running which were just beyond comfortable for short periods of time and the effort put in tonight was impressive.

We had one new member today so welcome to Zoe who is completely new to GoodGym and is also interested in finding out more about the Coach runs and the Missions.

Next week we will be delivering leaflets promoting another event but this time in Wandle Park and we will be able to spend some time running round this regenerated park and seeing all the improvements made over the last few years.

The GoodGym Parkrun tour will also be heading to Lloyd Park in Croydon on Saturday the 24th of September. It’s posted up under Races so sign up and come along in your red t-shirts and meet other GoodGymers from differeent boroughs
