Last night our wonderful Run Leader Joao led the team out to Sunnyhill Primary School to help out on a task organised for us by Task Force hero Jo - teamwork makes the dream work as they say!

as we were heading a bit further afield it meant a meet at Streatham Hill station rather than Papa's and the team set off from there for a short run up the hill to the school.

We had a strong group of 9 willing volunteers and great to have Louise across again to help out, thanks Louise!

Check out the awesome photos (we had too many to include them all so might drop a few on the sosh's) of ourvols shifting woodchip and lifting compost from one area over to where the kids will be using it for gardening lessons.

Last but not least we had Will along who baked us some delicious cookies and that makes it all even better in my book.

Big thanks to all and we look forward to seeing you next week where we will celebrate Tilly's 100th Good Deed so don't miss that and of course those who wish can go for a drink afterwards as well! :0)

Sunnyhill Primary school veg garden resurrection!
Move free and recycled materials from front to back of school

Sunnyhill Primary has lovely outdoor spaces all around a stunning building of character and history, but some of the spaces are not being used to their full potential or need some additional care. The school also wants to use outdoor lessons to give additional support to children needing connection with nature in these stressful times and has a small fund to help make this happen. The existing veg area has fallen into disuse because it lacks adequate planters for growing produce well and needs a better layout so staff can monitor effectively as they work with the children. The school is keen to reinvigorate its veg growing programme and have learning and growing sessions for key stage groups and ideally a gardening club. With the clearance work started with parent volunteers Sprout Up Schools has donated their design time to the project to re-imagine the space. Sprout Up Schools have got materials donated from Chelsea flower show, Conran shop and from Sprout Up's main business designing and building private gardens. These are all now at the front of the school and with a contractor lining up to do the skilled carpentry we need to move all the pieces into place!
