15 lovely runners ran 4km to help out at the Deborah Ubee Trust in Greenwich!

Last night looked like it was going to be a pretty miserable one but THANKFULLY the rain just about held off for us!

We had a good number of new runners with us last night which is always great! We welcomed a trio of lovely ladies: Jo, Bea and Channie! Hope you all had a good first run with us!

Fave pooch

So I nearly ran off without doing a headcount and favourite thing last night... WHAT WAS I THINKING?! That would have been a massive disaster but luckily Ben C came to the rescue and Bliss aptly suggested favourite dog! Which was perfect since there was potentially going to be a dog at the task!

After a little warm up on the grass, we ran to the Deborah Ubee Trust along the river while injured Ben P and Mridula walked the more direct route and met us there.

Upon arrival we were greeted by the lovely Denise who had lots of fun tasks prepared for us! We had window cleaning, carpet cleaning, plant potting, gardening and also a PC which needed setting up!

The nerds of the group, Mridula and Christian got started with the computer, Jo was named head gardener and took a little group out to do some weeding and wood chipping, Vickie had a team of ladies helping her clean the windows and then Ben C and Lee did the plant potting!

We love Ziggy!

We were in luck because Ziggy the therapy dog was around after all.. YAY! And she was even cuter than I remember and super excited to see us! It was nice that she wanted to keep everyone company, especially in nerd corner who really needed the extra support because sadly they weren't having the best time setting up the computer....

After half an hour, all the tasks were done! The weeds had been cleared from the beds outside, the windows were sparkling and the plants had been potted! Unfortunately, the PC was just not playing ball and didn't want to work for us, but it was probably just broken right....?!

Time trial time!

We said our goodbyes and headed back to the uni by running through Greenwich and got mentally prepared for this months TT! It was a bit slippy underfoot but we did it anyway and you guys did awesome! If anyone recorded their run on Strava, you can see the official leader board for the segment here! And if you haven't got Strava, firstly.. get it, it's awesome, or if you don't want to... try and remember the time I gave you last night so when we do it next month you can see how much you've improved!

After all that fast running it was time for a stretch and we even did it in a different place this time... Don't say I don't treat you guys! We went back inside for some Greenwich Goodies and then called it a night :)

Thanks so much for all your help last night everyone! You got so much done and saved Denise and the other volunteers a lot of work so huge well done! Next week we are going to the Scouts again so please join us!
