On a sunny spring evening, seven of GoodGym Redbridge’s finest runners head across the border into Waltham Forest to spread the word about discounted recycled paint and ran 9km in the process. This was a #LDNMovesMe special.

In recent months GG Redbridge has been a regular visitor to the Forest Recycling Project. During this time we have mixed hundreds of cans of paint and made them ready to be put on the walls of community centres, local projects and even residents houses. With plenty of paint waiting to be sold the next step in the project was to spread the word and get more people buying it – and hopefully finding a task for ourselves too!

Step up the top team of Peter, Katy, Matt (on his first GG task), James, Laura, Jay and Saghir. After a short briefing back at base the squad headed west to meet Nilesh at the warehouse. With a 20 minite warm up the team were ready to flyer four local streets with 500 flyers. A task that sounds pretty big until you get seven motivated Goodgymers involved…

Twenty minutes later, the task was done. All flyers delivered and one happy task owner. All that left was an easy cool down job back to base before a series of stretches to prevent stiffness and aching muscles.

Think this sounds fun? Why not join us next week when we up the ante and deliver 1,000 flyers. Up for the challenge? You can sign up here.

Can’t wait until next Monday to see some of your Goodgym pals? Why not head to the GoodGym Monthly social and found out which area won ‘Pun of the Month’ and who were GoodGym’s Heroes for March. You can sign up for the drinks here
