A highly energised bunch of GG Yorkies ran to Glen Gardens to do all sorts of good!

People must still be talking about GoodGym all over town because we welcomed a whopping 5 new runners to the gang. Let's give some massive cheers to:

We arrrived at Glen Gardens to the delighted face of Adi, who couldn't believe how many of us there were. She whizzed around dividing everyone up into teams for different mini tasks. Well, I say mini tasks.. none were that mini.

We had two teams planting bulbs, a team cutting down overgrown foliage to improve the view to the tennis courts, a team clearing the menace that is pink geranium and another team clearing hypericum - all with 35 minutes on the clock.

Pink Geranium, bad! - keeping the brief simple

New runner, Maddie, was on one of the bulb teams and was already marvelling at the life changes that GoodGym brings.

It's the time of day I'd just be watching TV and eating crisps!

The cutting stuff down team finished in double quick time and ran over to help out the weed-clearance teams. At that point it was just starting to get dark so I gleefully pulled out the new portable floodlight which was much more effective than anyone expected. It also blinded everyone. Sorry!

The bulb teams finished next and ran across to help put tools away and get involved with the weeding. As it got darker, it did become slightly harder to be sure that what we were digging up were definitely the right plants. Leanne and Becky were going for a particularly big one when I overheard this discussion.

Adi did say we could dig stuff up and then replant it... seems legit.

Massive rubble bags full of weeds were dragged to the collection point and Nicola did an excellent job of clearing dirt from the path with her bare hands. Cannot keep that girl away from the mud, she just loves it.

We celebrated all the good with the Glen Gardens Bench Workout which was 6 rounds of exercise including the hilariously uncoordinated crossover jack. Next week we're going to have a very special music-inspired workout which Aron suggested.. you're all going to LOVE it!
