A memorable date

We began the session with a speedy intro to the evening's task and rattling off some dates for the diary - Our next H&F Socials - 21st Nov and last GG of the year 12th Dec. And Putney 10k on 3rd December which quite a few H&F runners are already signed up to. Why not invite your friends too?

Jason and Claire gave us a good giggle by coming in fancy dress. Check out Jason's effort in the photos.

Let's get moving

Next up, we popped outside for a headcount and a warm-up. This week we had a long run ahead of 10km. It would be 4.4km to meet Gladys at Wand Uk and pick up some leaflets and hear about their work. Then a further 6.3km to run over to White City Estate (or Fright City Estate) to deliver them and then home.

We had to dodge past all the little trick or treat'ers on the way to Wand. It was a fun to see them all dressed up and people out and about.

Once we arrived at WAND, some of the team gave us a brief intro into their work. They are a women's charity that addresses the problems facing women in isolated and excluded communities through outreach services and regular networking events. Our task was to deliver 3 flyers. One flyer introduced what Wand does, and the second two promoted a project providing Mental Health Support in multiple languages and their Grenfell Emergency services.

With time marching we quickly sped over to the Estate and split into two teams - each taking one half of the estate. It was match night at Loftus Road Stadium so we had the crowd noise to cheer us along.

Afterwards, Will and George lead the pack back to base. Before the cool down everyone gave Esther a five five for completing her longest run ever! 10.9km awesome stuff.3
