March equinox yesterday, marking a return to warmer weather, the imminent return of light to our evening session...and Phoebe.
We got through a warm up, discussed the awesome upcoming shin dig (need Newham representing), the Olympics, Ruth's Half Mara PB (congrats) and the clan's Parkrun efforts. Our random weekly question was "best invention that may or may not be invented yet?" Time Machines, Teleportation, Flying Cars, Real time fact checker/bullshit-ometer, a warm jacket, GoodGym, Milkshakes, Netflix, contacts, glasses, sliced bread and bicycles to name but a few of the range, a range it certainly was.
2miles on the nose later and we had entered the weird and wonderful world of Cody Dock. Setting up their hall for the Spring Forward event on the Saturday after next, ie 30/03. Removing stapled on tartan, decorations, varnishing frames, watering, moving stages and a bit of painting. Was a tad over our 8.30pm return, but we got it all done, that's something.
Next week, shiny new task for most of you, it's WWF Earth Hour ("Earth Hour is now the world's largest grassroots movement"), and we're doing a gardening task to align ourselves with the movement. It's all about taking steps to minimise harming the planet, all adds up. Sign up
Have a salubrious weekend peeps and pencil in 13/04 for Parkrun Hackney Marshes, going to be a biggy, there may well be one this weekend too (whatsapp tbd)
Till next week
