Running 5k in bursts
Running 5km - but with a twist!
This week for our weekly fitness challenge we are challenging ourselves to run 5km - but with a twist!
The challenge is to run 5 x 1km bursts throughout the week and add then up your times to see what your '5km in bursts' total is.
You could do this all in one session (by running 1km, having a rest and then repeating another 4 times ) or you can combine it into your usual runs throughout the week (for instance, at the start of each of your regular runs push yourself to run fast for 1km and note down the time it took and then add up the total).
We think this will be a really exciting way to keep training dynamic and interesting. Keep us posted in the GG Bath WhatsApp group!

Ah that was fun! I completed it in one session with slow breaks in-between each k and took overall 22.15. I enjoyed trying to push myself as it's been a while! Hope you're well in Bath!
Thanks for taking part and sharing! Sounds like you did pretty well - good to hear. All good in Bath, trying to keep things exciting with challenges like these. Hope all is well in Bristol! :)
