Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Have you ever felt lost or had that realisation that you have lost someone close to you with no word or warning just missing even for an acute period of time, the panic is quite intense don't you think.
Can you imagine 25,0000 people in the UK feeling lost each year and further those that lose them are left with the trauma of not knowing – Well this is what GoodGym Richmond were tasked with tonight – Helping those lost and those who care for them.
Small in numbers, racing against the clock and lack of daylight (already) but were Richmond phased at all …..? No, neither these factors or the rainy streets could dampen our spirits or goodwill for such an amazing task tonight!
We were asked to take part in a Scavenger Hunt for Missing People which involved us seeking out local businesses to agree to be “poster partners” (displaying posters of those mssing) and “support partners” who provide a safe space for the person who is missing to visit and talk to someone. We were armed with the forms to create links in the community that would assist those that could help unite people and ease the process associated with the ordeal.
Now those that know Richmond and the number of businesses it holds will respect how much ground will need to be covered to maximise every opporunity to have an organisation sign up to help with this task.
With less than 10 people GG Richmond triumphantly packed in press ups, sprints, squats, star jumps and some core work with interval running and still managed to get just under 20 businessess agree to be involved either right away or as a partnership with Missing People.
As a run trainer one could not help feel so proud once again of Richmond not just for the results but the great acceptance of whatever the outcome, they were committed to do their best even though it meant that someone would get lost - me included (technically not lost but found my team missing from me) and even though they kept me informed I was still relieved and delighted to see them at the finish line (Wholefoods).
Will pass our contacts to Missing People they will be delighted with our help!!!
