British Summer is on a roll this year and the weather is HOT HOT HOT!!! We’re not complaining though – it was lovely to be out in the glorious sunshine tonight – even if it was a little warm for our run.

We met at the Wishing Well allotment and had a short warm-up before heading out for our run. We decided we’d take it nice and steady this evening with it being so warm. Emily, Karen, Nigel, Steve and I set out on a circular loop around Crewe town centre. It was a relatively short run this evening with the weather being so warm. We had a good natter on the way round as always, catching up on the week’s news and happenings.

Back at the allotment, we set to work on doing some much overdue tidying. We weeded, cleared, harvested and watered (I’m happy to report that no humans were watered tonight – just the soil!). The grass didn’t really need a cut as its barely growing with all the heat. The beds needed a good water though as the soil was rock solid! We harvested potatoes and leeks and we really hope that they’ll be used by the centre for their community meals on wheels service.

When we’d finished our tidying, we decided to head over to Hops for a nice cold drink… a very well earned refreshment (and there might have been a few cheeky nibbles too!). It was good to have a good natter and a bit of a social in great company as always.

Well done everyone. Another great task done. You're all fabulous xx
