SESSION ORGANISER
Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Shreena Parmar
It was a lovely sunny Saturday and we followed in the footsteps of the first group who set the standard high for the task after doing such a great job at the first session that morning.
We were filling buckets of compost and transporting them over to the roof hut where the roofers were fixing the turf roof.
5 GoodGymmers were on wheelbarrow duty (which involved re-filling and lifting buckets), 2 GoodGymmers were refilling buckets with compost, 1 GoodGymmer (Nathalie) was on the platform passing the buckets to the roofers
Great job everyone! Hope you had some fun in the snow the next day :)
Urban Escape is based at the roundhouse and acre growing space at Springfield Allotments in Knowle and aims to reconnect young people and adults with nature, create lasting relationships and supporting local people on their journey through life. The project utilises a wide variety of outdoor activities, life skills and group work as the tool to engage the groups and build relationships. Hands on and creative activities throughout the year include bush craft, growing, foraging and cooking fresh food, natural arts and crafts, community engagement and social action projects. The Junior, Senior and Adult groups take ownership of their projects by choosing activities and trips at different points through the year. All three groups have a maximum of 10 young people/adults at any one time because of the tools and activities used for the sessions. http://www.youthmoves.org.uk/urban-escape
