Friends of Finchley Way Open Space became a registered charity in December 2020. Finchley Way Open Space which is a local green space, much of which had been neglected for many years.
This will be a rolling community mission.
A sensory garden is all about stimulating and engaging the five basic senses of sight, smell, sound, touch and taste’. To this end the area will need a mixture of plants that are visually attractive, have a strong fragrance, that rustle in the wind, that have leaves with different textures and that are edible. For edible we will probably use herbs to minimise maintenance. A key to sustainability will be to choose plants that are self-seeding or perennials and that will be sustainable in the face of climate change.
How are you getting there?
