After a big round of applause and warm welcome to first time GG'er Lynne Dixon we got a brief photo on the Showrooms posh new ramp and headed off up 3.5km worth of uphill to meet SUSTRANS SIMON.

On arrival we were greeted with tools ready as Simon met us on a new section of the National Cycle Network (NCN) and talked us through the evenings tasks;

  1. Litter picking - Did you see how many bags we got, we even seperated it for recycling!
  2. Edging - widening the path from the encroaching greenery.
  3. Cutting back - as above
  4. Scraping and brushing - getting rid of the charred remains of mini bonfires, delightful...

After a good sesh, we popped tools back in the boot of Simon's van being careful to keep his tools and Regather's tools seperate and headed toward home.

On route we got some fitness thrown in which included;

  • Triangle loops
  • Stair sets - with optional jump poses - see photos
  • Mini hill reps
  • Traffic light sprint - My god Serge can sprint!

We finished up on the grass in a lovely spot to get stretched off and hear of upcoming news and headed in for National Trust cake courtesy of Tom and Kim, delicious!

Until next time, happy running!
