Last night 6 members of Goodgym Croydon, along with an employee of OCTOPUS (Sacha) and residents from ECCO, came together to help tidy up the area around some of the raised beds along the boulevard.

Jerry was kind enough to remind us that on our last visit we had filled 26 bags and commented on how good it would be to be able to surpass that number tonight. Not that he was putting any pressure on us but gave us a target of 27.

Due to the change in season there was litter and a lot of leaves on the ground. Some of us swept and bagged the leaves and litter while others pruned the edges of the overgrown raised beds. During our work we discussed the upcoming Christmas party and secret Santa and the likelihood of this happening with COVID restrictions. We found out about Magda's solo mission litter picking in Park Hill and her discovery of Coca Cola cans (see attached picture) and also discussed Beth's1000th good deed, new badge and t-shirt. Some of you may not know Beth but given her recent achievement it would be nice to go and give her an extra cheer, congratulating her on reaching her 1000th good deed :)

We can gladly report that we smashed our previous number of 26 bags with a whopping 32 bags of litter and leaves, in his eagerness to achieve this Jerry even put a bag full of our high-vis vests in with the rubbish! (Which we did remove!)

Upon completing our task we bid Jerry farewell and parted ways.

Next week we are off to a new task - find out about it here.
