Helping LBRuT diversify an monoculture woodland of single age ash trees, we will be felling trees to enhance the habitat creating coppice and woodland glades. We will also be ringbarking some trees to create standing deadwood for invertebrates and woodpeckers and planting hawthorn, field maple, blackthorn and oak trees to diversify the woodland. But the first phase is all about felling trees to open the woodland up. Come along and be a lumberjack!
All training and tools will be provided. We will meet at the main entrance to Hatherop Park on Broad Lane and Hatherop Road (free parking on street adjacent) at 10am.
