Another compost sorting mission at Ruskin Park today!

We arrived at 11 to find there was nobody to meet us but some people from another community group knew who we were and let us in to the compost area. We checked out the mission report from last time to see how they did it which was just what we needed to get going!

Clare, Jen and Nathan started with digging up compost whilst Shauna and I shook the compost through a trolley into a bag below.

We switched around a bit and after an hour headed off home having learnt a new skill!

Ruskin Park Community Garden
A source of education and enthusiasm for growing vegetables!

Ruskin Park Community Garden encourages inner city gardening to reduce the carbon output involved in food production and transport. At their weekly dig days, people can learn how to grow veg by doing. Their ethos is sustainability – reduce, reuse recycle – and inclusiveness – we want garden users to reflect the diversity of the neighbourhood. Harvested food is shared among the gardeners at each dig.
