Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
12 Goodgymers hit the street, took on a 4k run for an arm day session at Kori Community Centre
Shouts out to Liam who joined us for the first time
Convo flowed nicely as we awaited our last few attendees. Shouts out to Liam who joined us for his first GGH session. At around 6:50 we headed outside for our briefing and warm up. That did we set off en route for Kori. We were planning to go over to Wolves Lane Horticultural centre but unfortunately we had to change our plan and head over to Kori. This was a good thing for the folk of Kori though as there’s still plenty to get on with over there.
You were doing the local children proud!
On arrival myself and Chris sorted out tools and after a quick demonstration we got stuck in. Scratching scraping and a little less chipping of the paint. You could hear the effort going into the vigorous push pull actions from all. Great effort here guys. You were doing the local children proud! A small group of kids came into the park to play for a short time. One of them stayed in the park and seemed to take a shine to Hazel and the rest of the group. She was absolutely adorable and very inquisitive. Very glad that we can be of service to her and her friends who use the park. Before long we had run out of time and had to start cleaning up and packing things away. With everything gathered I asked the group to do a wall sit while I dropped off the tools. On my return I thought I’d take a different route and discovered a few cheeky chappies had come away from the wall.. tut tut. In all fairness I was gone for a few minutes. That did we set off for the war memorial for our fitness session but not before dishing out a couple more bags of Epsom Salts and a round of high fives.
Thanks Hazel – we really appreciated it.
Once at the war memorial we got stuck into some tabata, which involved doing four exercises back to back. Two partner assisted to make things a little more fun. After a little breather we then set off along Philip Lane with a quick stop to remind all to up the pace from that point and save a little bit of gas for the sprint finish at the end of Philip Lane. Everyone really dug in here and made up good ground. Great effort guys!! We then did our stretches and warmed down and nibbled on some lovely lemon drizzle cake that Hazel had prepared and brought in for us. Thanks Hazel – we really appreciated it.
