Kingston Council: Pollinator pathBy transforming a neglected, overgrown space into a managed pollinator bed, this project will improve public safety by restoring full pavement access for pedestrians through the removal of encroaching brambles. It will also boost community well-being by creating a more attractive, greener streetscape that enhances an otherwise neglected strip of land. The project will also strengthen biodiversity by expanding the wildway corridor, providing vital habitats for pollinators and small insects.
Planned Works
- Cutting, clearing, and root removal of brambles
- Collection and removal of leaf litter and excess soil
- Preparation of the planting bed for spring planting
We will be meeting at the Quaker Centre for 6.30pm and will run 3km to Langley Avenue (Stop SA) bus stop, Surbiton, KT6 6QL. We will get there for approximately 7pm if you need to meet us there. We will be doing a 3km run back after the task ends.
