Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Abi Perrin
Back in January Latoya and I met for the first time (and for her first GoodGym mission) on a cold morning in Walthamstow. It seemed fitting to meet again in the same area on another chilly morning for our 12th mission together in as many months. :)
Today was one of our biggest and perhaps most impactful missions, which essentially involved switching most of the furniture between Ms R's lounge and bedroom to allow her to get a comfortable night's rest without having to sleep on her sofa. We used our (now highly trained) furniture maneuvering expertise to maximum effect to get a very large bed, some drawers and a table from the bedroom to the lounge and a sofa, two massive trunks, two tables, computing equipment and some other odds and ends from the lounge to the (former) bedroom. We then arranged Ms R's new room to ensure she and her carers had access to everything they needed. Finally we made sure the TV and Sky box were still working after we'd disconnected them during the move, making sure Ms R wouldn't have to miss any Christmas specials.
Ms R was very happy to have a newly arranged, more comfortable living space and it was a pleasure for us to be able to make that happen for her in time for Christmas.
Thanks Latoya for being such an excellent weightlifting-with-purpose partner this year. It's been fantastic to get to know you and to be able to lend a helping hand (or 4) to others together.

Two mission masters and community heroes. Sounds like a big task with a huge impact. Very well done; you've earned lots of Christmas treats!
