16.5 Goodgymers ran 5.1k and dished out leaflets along Park Lane for Crutch Haringey

Huge shouts out to Lucy, Heather and the bump who joined GGH for the first time

Huge shouts out to Lucy, Heather and the bump who joined GGH for the first time – Big up!! There was one other who’s handwriting I’m unable to read (probably down to cold hands). I’ll do some digging. Oh and shouts out to Irene who showed her ID but didn't run.. I look forward to having you join us on a run soon.

cold and dark night with not as much high vis

After briefing and a warm up we set off into the cold and dark night with not as much high vis as usual but plenty of good intentions. As we headed in the direction of Northumberland Park. Being an Arsenal fan I wasn’t feeling as comfortable as one or two of my fellow GGrs who are Tottenham fans but hey ho. The flyers we were dishing out offered up some of Haringey Crutch’s services including food and clothes banks along with advice and there upcoming launch event.

we dished out just under half of the 1000 leaflets we had been given.

On arrival at Park Lane we split into groups and headed down towards Rothbury Walk Estate, dishing out flyers door to door as we went. Everybody delivered away nicely. After hitting some of Park Lane, Bromley Rd, Vicarage Rd, Sutherland Rd and St Paul’s Road we turned our efforts to Rothbury Walk Estate and after spending 15 or so minutes there we regrouped outside a parade of shops on Park Lane. Oh and shouts out to Senay who used her mother tongue to get a bundle of leaflets on display in what looked to be one of the main shops serving the estate. Good shout Senay. Great effort from everyone – we dished out just under half of the 1000 leaflets we had been given.

eeeek!

Time had by now run out so we headed back toward base but not before a round of high fives. Then came a fitness session, which included partnered wheelbarrow squats/plank, lunges, crunches and a short sprint. Then came the warm down and the discovery that one of our runners was actually pregnant - eeeek! I clearly need to brush up on / elaborate the "does anyone have any injuries or anything" part of my briefing. To say I was mortified at the discovery would be an understatement.

Thanks to Sarah for the punspiration and Dashing Dave for signposting the group
