Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Lucy Hill
Hands sanitised, shopping bags ready, and 3.5k ran to Mr S’s... Only to discover I couldn’t find his flat. The address was listed as something different and the neighbours couldn’t help me out with finding where this mysterious flat was. A reccy of the road took place, to make sure there wasn’t a typo and it wasn’t any other flat along the road. Alas. No avail.
Almost half an hour had passed, and with no house found and no phone number to call, I was about to give up and head home...
Then a door to opened. I took my chances - ‘do you happen to know where this mysterious flat is?’. As luck would have it, the man standing in the doorway was Mr S! The mystery flat I was looking for was part of the one next door, and the door number had been removed, so Mr S stuck a new one up and gave me his list. Only thirty minutes late, but at least the task was going ahead and I was bready to go.
To Tesco’s I went, joining the social distancing queue to get in. What started as a nightmare turned into a cream! Another stroke of luck meant the shop was well stocked, and there was muffin on Mr S’s shopping list that wasn’t put in the trolley and paid for!
It was certainly an interesting task, but the mission was a success in the end. Not quite as smooth as the orange delivered to Mr S, but certainly a juicy one to remember.
