Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Danny
๐ถ๐ซ
After a recent run of quite quotidian tasks where I was left to mine Wikipedia for dog trivia just to have something to say for myself, I was delivered a fair bit today...
๐ง
For a start, it was lashing it down when I left so I was forced to run there. It wasnโt far, but Iโve not run in many months now (injured) so 3km up and down hills was plenty evidence that whatever fitness I may have once had, itโs now zero ๐ฅบ. Beats walking and being soaked through though. ๐
๐
The task for Ms. C was to collect some groceries. As it turns out she didnโt need any, but did need a packet of branded OTC painkillers, and she knew where the closest pharmacy was.
๐๐ด
They didnโt have the stuff in stock there, so off I went to an alternative one. On the way I saw the traffic was stopped where a guy had been knocked off his bike. Besides the occupants of the vehicle no one was around, so I saw an opportunity to stick my nose into someoneโs business.
I got a photo of the number plate of the car, and walked with the guy and his bike up the road to the hospital. His hand was pretty mashed and bleeding a fair bit, but otherwise he and his bike seemed fine. We got the lights and stuff off his bike and locked it up in the hospital car park, and I sent him the number plate photo.
๐
After the short side quest, I was back on brief. The second pharmacy did have what we needed, so I was straight off back off to Ms Cโs. Passing the scene from earlier, there was quite a bit of broken taillight and other red stuff on the road and pavement.
๐
Ms. Cโs, was made-up with what had seemed to me like a pretty meagre consignment. She beamed and said sheโd not been able to get the stuff for 4 months.
๐ฑ
By this time the weather was blazing again ๐ and whilst there were puddles as wide as the road in some places, one of my local cats ๐ฑ was already back out getting some vitamin D.
