The fantastic five had a lovely time with Mr and Mrs P helping to clear the fence area of their little nature reserve that used to be blooming with bluebells but had become over run with nettles, brambles and bindweed! Once clear Mr P is hoping to get a new fence installed to help preserve the wonderful space that they have created over the years.
Luckily Mr P had a 'before' photo so we knew what we were aiming for plus a barrow full of tools to help us along the way. We got to work slashing brambles, yelping at stings (mostly me), raking ivy and lopping nettles until the fence was uncovered and the ground looked a lot clearer. We filled 3 huge bags with garden waste and the beneficiaries were really chuffed at our progress.
After a few games of throw with Alfie the border collie we were treated to a lush cuppa tea along with slices of pi (get it?) and angel cake. Mrs P wouldn't let us leave without a kit kat to fuel our onward journey. Thanks for a great mission all!
