4 Greenwich runners ran 6km to help revive the window displays at the Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice charity shop!

Let's hear it for the boys!

Another gorgeous evening last night in Greenwich, it was super warm, we could have been anywhere in the world! Unfortunately we had a few last minute drop outs but thanks to Alex, Christian & Steve, I wasn't left on my tod, yay! Thanks guys!

We dropped our bags and did a little warm up on the grass and got going pretty quickly! We arrived at the charity shop just after 7 o'clock which meant we got to spend a little bit longer at the task which was good considering there weren't many of us and we also had a bit of time at the end to make the run a little longer! Awesome!

We were greeted by the lovely Jane who had an exciting and very creative task lined up for us! Some visual merchandising aka making the displays look pretty! We had 5 mannequins to change, a whole window display to arrange and a bric-a-brac section to organise as well as some hoovering, dusting and other bits of tidying!

Love is in the air!

First task was picking a Summer come Autumn outfit for our lovely legless and headless lady mannequin aka Alex's new girlfriend. Alex & Steve were on the case and chose a rather fetching jumper/jeans/coat/scarf combo. It must have been good otherwise Jane wouldn't have asked you guys to change the rest of them!

Steve got on with the rest of the window display which I must say looked delightful. In the meantime, Christian was hoovering the entire shop! Nice one! Once the main task was finished we picked some lovely dresses for the remaining models in the windows to make them look pretty, which they most certainly did! If we walk past the shop over the next few days and the outfits on the models have changed, let's just hope it's because someone had asked to buy them because they looked so great and not that the staff changed them as soon as we left! Hahaha.

A few more bits of cleaning here and there and that was that! We took a group photo and we even got a sneak peek of the new £5 note! And then we were on our way.

We went for a little run the scenic route back along the river into the amazing sunset which looked beautiful. We ran past the Cutty Sark and beyond until we got to the end of the straight path. We took a few snaps with Canary Wharf in the background and set off back to base to do our sprint session!!

SPEED!

This week's fitness session was about speed! We used the quadrant as a bit of a track which worked quite well actually! So the goal was to complete 5x 30s sprints and aiming to get further along the "track" each time. 30 seconds doesn't sound like long but man does it take it out of you! So the guys worked their way up, increasing their speed each round until we got to the fifth one where it was an all out sprint for 30s! Not easy but you guys smashed it!

SOCIAL NEXT WEEK!

Alex has kindly organised a little social for the GG Greenwich crew next week so after we've done our good deed at The Bridge, we will head back into Greenwich for a few drinks at the Gipsy Moth :)

Thanks so much for your help last night gents!! You got a lot done and the ladies at the charity shop really appreciated it so well done! See you next week!

Great suff. And I trust the boys apply the same effort in keeping their new pad clean.
