Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Southwark runner
Yesterday, I was joined by 10 runners at our weekly group run. Sam, our area activator was on holiday, so with a lot of help from everyone else, I was “replacement Sam”. 🤓
It was also a special week as we celebrated Daryl’s 50th! Well done Daryl for reaching 50 good deeds, and also for being a good sport, despite the uncomfortable gown and party hat! 🥳 We also welcomed Ashlee, who had been recruited by Emma.
On Friday, it will be “Singles Day”, so I wanted to know what each person’s guilty pleasure is that they do when they are alone. Answers included eating sweets, having a long bath, watching YouTube videos and listening to music loudly - turns out we are a homely bunch! 🥰
This week, we were going to Thorlands, to do our very usual gardening tasks. Once we arrived (stealthily joined by Jess who found us mid-run), we found Mikhail who had made his own way to the task. We picked up the tools that we needed and set off to work. We split off into three groups: Daryl, Gemma, Clare and Ashlee moved woodchip, then Katy and Jess did woodchip spreading, and whilst Nathan, Mikhail, Nelly and Emma did some weeding.
Whilst I floated between the groups, the highlights I caught were: a tutorial from Simon about how to use a hoe, 5 wheelbarrows of woodchips moved 🙌 and a new bouncy floor from all the woodchip spreading. Well done everyone! 👏👏👏
