A bazaar task: undoing yesterday's task and taking down a Christmas tree in November!!
4 GoodGymers made their way 4km to help their local community in Greenwich.

It's not often we are asked to undo the work we have just done, but such was the nature of this community mission!
On Friday evening a group of runners had helped set up the Blackheath School hall for the Westcombe Society Christmas Bazaar.
On Saturday evening myself (VIc), Pieter, Hilary and Sara arrived to help clear up afterwards.
When we arrived, the last few attendees were leaving and the stall holders were starting to pack up everything from hand crafted jewelry to second hand books to 'find your house on a map of Greenwich on a tea towel'!
We were instructed by Marilyn from the Westcombe society to start taking down the stall decorations, folding up the table clothes or putting separately for washing, and folding and stacking tables at the side of the hall.
Working in pairs, we waited for each stall holder to pack up and then started taking down the stalls. It was done fairly quickly and then we were asked if we would like to take down the lovely Christmas tree before it was transported to its new home at the Blackheath Royal Standard. OF COURSE WE DID!
Sara had the very important task of releasing the ropes holding up the tree in a pulley system - while the rest of us stayed a safe distance away! And, on the count of three, TIMBER! The tree came crashing down and we all had a photo of us with the felled fir.
After being the recipient of many thanks from the Bazaar organisers we were on our way!
