Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
15 runners ran 6k to help Stepney City farm prepare for bonfire night.
A nifty group of 15 runners hit our usual haunt Stepney City farm last night. We had expected compost, but were offered something a bit more palletable:
Our jobs were laying woodchip on the paths, making 'sink holes' and dismantling pallets.
"melodious bashing"
We arrived and split into our three teams. Fran and Becky headed a team briskly shifting wood chip to the path. Alex called for more 'melodious bashing' from the pallet workers next door.
" pit number one"
Andrew and Zosia worked on pit number one making a 2 metre wide hole in 37 mins. Patrick's team of diggers hit concrete quite quickly - but had managed to make a hole big enough to drain most of the water down by the side of the shed.
"dangerous"
New runner Emma got stuck in immediately with GoodGym's 'most dangerous' task - pallet bashing, working with Richard, Cullain and others to rip apart the pallets with crowbars. It was hard to get them to stop, but they'd pretty much completed 3 whole pallets worth by the end of the time.
Having worked hard for 40 mins we hit the streets again. My group heading straight back to base and Patrick leading a speedier session along the canal.
Also, the Arch Gallery have open nights every Thursday. Get yourself along if can.
Tower Hamlets
Come and kickstart the weekend with one of our most popular tasks!
