Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Nicola Marshall
Well, the rain poured down for most of the day (seems to be a regular occurrence just lately!). As I was leaving to come out for Goodgym, there was a rain and sunshine combo…. there must have been a rainbow somewhere…..
But, true to Goodgym form, the rain dried up in plenty of time for our group run. Emily, Maurice & Nicola met at the Wishing Well ready for our task later that evening. We did our warm-up before heading out for our run. We decided on quite a long route tonight as our task was relatively short and we had a bit more time on our hands than usual, so off we set on our 3 mile circular route. It was a fairly flat route but it wasn’t without the odd hill here and there (puff, pant!). Maurice & Emily both put me to shame – I really need to up my game! It was an enjoyable chatty run though and as always, nice to have a natter about our week and its happenings….
Back at the Wishing Well, we set to work planting some daffodil bulbs (once we’d finally manged to sort figure the gate lock out that is - Karen, I missed your lock capabilities this evening!!). It was pretty dark by this point, so it was a bit challenging to see what we were doing!! We got all the bulbs planted though and I’m sure they’ll look lovely when they come up next Spring. I think we planted about 30 in total. Not bad work in the dark I don’t suppose!
After all the bulbs were in, we had the obligatory selfies and then headed down to the lovely Hops Belgian Bar for a cheeky drink (or two!). There may also have been some crisps chucked in there too! We had a lovely natter, put ideas forward for more gorgeous Goodgym socials and discussed how we could increase Goodgym participation!
All in all, another lovely evening spent with amazing friends. Well done everyone on great run and our short but sweet task!
Have a great week. Take care until next time, Lots of love, Nicola xxx
