I went to see Mrs. M at the nursing home as usual but hadn't notice the entry in the visitor book before me - that of her next of kin, Ms. S; the lady who I have only communicated with on text. It was a nice surprise to finally meet her in person today!

While that was nice, Mrs. M's state was not. She seemed pretty worked up and Ms. S said when she came in, Mrs. M had legs dangling off the bed, as if trying to get up. It's quite sad to see her in this helpless state. Having been independent all her life, she's not adapting well to being bed bound and gets agitated and depressed easily.

Luckily the nurse came by with fresh batteries for her hearing aids and that helped calm her down. For brief periods, she was her old self again and we chatted a bit after Ms. S left. She asked me if she was being, "a miserable old git"! "No, Mrs. M! Not at all", I reassured her :) She seemed relaxed (and tired) when I left. Hope her mood remains better for the rest of the day.

I think you must be showing her how much litter you collected on Friday. Well done for your visit. Can’t be easy seeing Mrs M struggling. X
