It was fantastic to be back group running after the Christmas break, we had technically only missed 1 group run but it felt like much more. It was a challenging group run for the first one back but hills are good for us (my New Year mantra) and Senior's is one of our favourite tasks!
We began to gather outside Glass Mill to catch up on how our Christmas and New Year went and also to discuss how cold it had suddenly got. We did a quick warm up to get those legs moving before the run up and over the hills.
One we arrived at Senior's the first task was to collect all the boxes from the basement and allocate them to trees, mainly so we know where they are when it comes to put them back up in November. There was one tree that had fallen over...was it because of our putting up technique or was it because it had had one too many Christmas drinks?
When we put the trees up in November we put 4 trees up and there was only 3 trees to take down, we have been unable to locate the missing tree, there is even group photo evidence of us trying to find the missing tree!
It was soon time for our official group photo and we gathered under a beautiful new sign that the Senior's Craft Club have created.
It was a tough run but everyone did AMAZING!
Next week is our birthday group run and it's one of our favourites - collecting the abandoned Christmas trees of Lewisham. Last year we collected a massive 53 Christmas trees!! Let's see how many we find and then we can celebrate our Christmas tree collecting achievements and all our good we've done over the past year. Don't forget to sign up to the social listing so I know how many to book for.
