Farmyard warm-up

We started the evening off with a nice, gentle warm-up - making sure we shooed the chickens after we'd open and shut the gate (a good spot from Dave, who was doing some GG touristing from Bristol).

Next we headed directly to the task where Pauline from Maystar and Cheesemans Estate met us in the hall, ready to dole out the jobs.

Don’t cork it up

One group was tasked with sticking up cork tiles inside the hall. This was on a wall that we had removed sellotape from and sanded down the week before. The team did a cracking job sticking up the tiles and it looked pretty impressive afterwards.

Why don’t you come over Valerie

The second team headed back to Valerie's garden for a second time to tackle the sea of plant pots. The main aim was to weed the pots and clear a path for Valerie to walk around them.

After the speedy completion of the pin-board task, Team Cork split off to water gardens and communal flower beds.

Every little helps

Once I finally pried the teams away from "just weeding one last bit", we head-off for a micro strength training session in the park.

We took it in turns to decide on an exercise for the group. The group continued the exercise while one person sprinted to a nearby tree and back. Exercises included burpees, star jumps and squats.

Once back at base we stretched out our muscles and our brains… to think of a run report pun!

Over and out.
