We headed to Hilsea Lido for our 5th visit and although it was warm the rain had started so it was a little cooler and wetter than the last few heatwave days we recently had. Louisa was finally given the 50th good deed cap as we hadn't had the chance to see her since she made her 50th. Well done Louisa.

We met Paul and unfortunately he was a little down as the Lido had experienced another break in over the last few days. They had accessed the changing rooms and caused damage, thrown life rings and plastic gloves into the pool and also damaged other areas of the Lido. The 5 of us headed towards the back of the Lido to continue with the clearing of the weeds from the path and to also trim any ivy and brambles that were setting seed in the ground. Louisa and Sarah contributed towards the title of this report by realising that they maybe should have worn a belt whilst they were crouching down to remove the weeds. Jokes about builders and where people could park their bikes came to mind.

Once we had finished the weeding and thankfully the rain had eased, Jen and Katie took a dip in the pool to fish out the items that had been thrown in as well as the items that had blown in with the wind.

Sarah and Katie headed into the ladies changing rooms with Barry Scott's all purpose cleaner Cillet Bang (other cleaners are available). They were removing the mildew from the doors and frames within the changing rooms.

Louisa, Jen and Jo headed towards a large bag of sand that had been split open in the burglary and put this into buckets so it could be transferred into another area. Thankfully a trolley was available so that we could stack up the buckets and transport them to be emptied.

After finishing at the Lido, Louisa, Katie, Sarah and Jo headed to the local wake boarding area to grab a cuppa but our day was not finished as the wind blew away Katie's cap into the lagoon. We saw it drift into the middle and hoped that after our drink it would have made its way to the other side. Sure enough when we came out Louisa spotted something red bobbing on the surface and stood in position on the side of the bank as a marker. Sarah grabbed her litter picker and we headed to the bank where Katie carefully climbed down the bank to retrieve her cap and emptying out the small shrimps/prawns that had settled in. Sarah kindly filmed the moment on the off chance Katie would fall in and we'd get £250 for the video on You've been Framed.

There's still lots more to do at the Lido on our next visit.
