Today, three members of GoodGym supported Coventry Social Supermarket in their vital food distribution work.

GoodGym were able to provide back up and support to the regular group of committed and friendly supermarket volunteers.

As before, staff briefed us about the necessary hygiene and distancing measures being adopted and allocated jobs and roles.

Vickie took charge of tea making, ensuring that volunteers took their breaks and had plenty of tea and toast to keep them going during this busy shift.

Lil and Jackie went on a mini mission of their own. The supermarket printer had broken and we urgently needed more registration forms for the big influx of new supermarket members. After a few phone calls, Lil and Jackie took the short, socially distanced walk over to a local primary school who were super kind in getting the forms photocopied for us in no time at all.

GoodGym supported in lots of different roles today; cleaning down surfaces, tea and toast duty, bagging up food parcels and organising stock on the shelves. The Social Supermarket have a pivotal role in supporting families and individuals during this difficult times. As ever, they made us feel very welcome and everyone pulled together in supporting dozens of households today. Super work!
