The second part of the trip to Deptford was to try to clear enough of J’s garden so he grow some herbs - particularly coriander which he is rather partial to! He had a whole variety of weeds - including nettles, brambles, green alkanet along with a friendly cat. He was particularly pleased that amidst the weeds I discovered that he already had a large herb, lemon balm, growing and he rather liked the taste of it! Will go back and slightly enlarge the clear planting area in a few weeks.
