A Divan Plan.
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.
- Monday, 29th of June 2020
With a distinct sense of deja vu, Jack and I met up once again to move a mattress...we've clearly found our specialist skill in the Hackney/Islington area...
Fortunately Miss P lived on the ground floor, so no need of a big window through which to eject the items today, and once she'd passed us the key fob to give us access to/from the bin area, we quickly got to work doing the necessary dismantling of the bed and before too long the mattress was out, quickly followed by the piece parts of the divan base. Strangely our biggest challenge proved to be opening the door to the bin area against an unexpectedly strong wind now blowing through this part of Hackney.
With the bed now removed, we borrowed Miss P's hoover to give the carpet a good clean in preparation for her new bed due to be delivered tomorrow. We had a quick chat with Miss P about how she was managing in lockdown (largely fine it seemed), she thanked us for completing the task, we bid her our farewells and stepped outside hoping to find our bikes hadn't joined the Heathrow flight path.
