4 members from Good Gym Sheffield went to Alexandra Road Community Garden to help with the monthly garden tidy up. We helped to prune back some seriously overgrown bushes - creating a pile of off-cuts that was bigger than Ash! This is a lovely little garden space run by an equally lovely group of volunteers. The land was gifted to the community by the Council 25 years ago but numbers of locals involved with the garden have dropped dramatically with people moving on - so they really appreciate the effort and impact a handful of GG members can make. The tidy up is on the 1st Sunday of each month and is now a regular GG Community Mission - do come along and help next time. And as for the title of the mission ... we were given apples and berries from the glut on their trees - a thoroughly rewarding and far from fruitless trip!
