Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Cathy Aicardi
Well we know 3 out of 4 sure made a fitness stretch this evening and it proved to be more of a Fat Leg than Fartlek in some accounts due to not running for some time but despite this others still found it meant quite a lot. Not just to be out again walk/ running but to be part of the GG group in Richmond in times we are experiencing right now.
Whether it is worth as much as Isleworth itself which is where Cathy's roaming fitness session took her, well you can choose and while you are at it do you know what town Isleworth is twinned with?
'I decided to do a walk/run combo for my 3k and the first thing that happened is that surprised myself in how much I enjoyed and found easy the run part, especially as I hadn't gone out for a run in several weeks. Also, I had been avoiding riverside (due to too many people) but given the time of evening, decided to take a chance on the river route towards Isleworth and a thought occurred to me the entire time about how valuable it has been over the past months to be literally in some kind of daily contact with GGers: via WhatsApp - with (almost!) as many laughs as there have been messages, or quarantine quiz nights, or celebrating birthdays/milestones on Zoom, or phone calls or the occasional crossing paths on a community mission ...all of it IS A WORTH A LOT! (note: this is my attempt at a pun). I honestly don't know how would have fared without all of you wonderful people and thank my lucky stars to be a part of this community. It was also incredible how much growth has occurred with the greenery and blooms along this route that I hadn't taken in some time. What a joy to be living in such a beautiful part of London'.
Great account Cathy and thanks for the input from all and photos
Much Kudos
