Welcome back to our first non essential community mission post lockdown 3.0!

Apprehensively, but excitedly a group of 6 runners in Goodgym Red T-Shirts met at Poole Park in what was a glorious spring day.

Everything is looking that bit brighter and greener as the clocks have changed and regulations eased up a little.

The park was buzzing as we arrived, so many individual or small groupds of runners, walkers, families and even a group of 4 with picnic chairs, table and food on the cricket pitch despite it being 6pm - It was just good to see people again.

We took a run / walk to the new planters, it wasn't about pace or time, it was again enjoying company of your fellow runners and friends!

The planters have only just been put in place by the train station. One planter was full of flowers and the other weeds. But true to form, Goodgym members had a few secrets in their backpacks. Out came a trowel from Jane (along with a bag of fudge!) and a fork from Shelley (along with a load of Malteser easter bunnies!). These two are clearly the practical planners!

Robert was chief bagger and Elizabeth snapped some pics whilst Patricia imparted her gardening knowledge for what type of flowers would be best!

There was a great photo opportunity right at the Dolphin Centre and over the bridge, before it was again back to Poole Park to finish with a few sprints around the cricket pitch. Robert did not fail with his fast twitch muscles in action as he shot around the pitch with Elizabeth proving her saving 'oldladiesrule by sprinting past Esther at the last hurdle! Shelley deserves a shout out after still suffering from long covid and working to once again run, it was so fab to have her with us!

The planters we will be maintaining going forward and will also get a plaque made up to put on the boxes so we hope for flowers soon!
