A good deed? A good weed!
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.
- Saturday, 3rd of October 2015
Two runners ran and cycled over to East Ham on Saturday afternoon to help out Roy, whose garden was in need of a good weed. We were met by Roy and Kevina, Roy's neighbour. We tackled the paving in the front garden first, and were rewarded with tea and custard creams at Kevina's insistence. Then we got started on the back garden, watched by the curious kids from next door who seemed to find us quite funny! We managed to clear the two borders, battling giant roots and biting insects. Roy had a last-minute lightbulb changing request which prompted the question 'How many PhD students does it take to change a lightbulb?' (answer: 2). Luckily we managed it and left the living room brightly lit before heading home.
