12 people ran 5.5km to help feed the homeless and clear out a room at the Birmingham Mission Care Centre
Tonight, we welcomed Luke to the fold. It is great to have you with us! On a nice evening, we set out on the 2k run to the care centre. Once arriving we were split into two groups, one group helping clear a room, moving clothing items upstairs, the other group served the food. Once the food was served up, we were on our way again.
Bulgarian split lunges
I told the group we would be running straight to the street where we do the ‘infamous’ hill work, however as we passed the steps at the front of the Mailbox, I thought it seemed a shame not to use them. The group performed two sets of 30 second Bulgarian split lunges on each leg. The deeper you go the more you work that backside and get those thighs burning! Once those were done the group did some heart racing step up work……and then it was on to the hills!
time to burn
So, we arrived at our usual spot for the hill work. The mission was to run hard up the hill, with an easy jog down for 8 continuous minutes! Well every week we do this hill work the group seems to improve which is fantastic to see! Everyone again was brilliant! We had Luke and Neal racing each other hard at the front. Gary, Tom and Aidan pushing each other a long and Abbie showing great technique with a ‘Mo Farah esk’ arm action. Laura, Maria, Karin and Morwenna pushed each other a long, is that everyone mentioned?! Oh yes, I nearly forgot Rob, he put a great shift in his first GoodGym run for a while. Top work guys! Once done, it was a nice easy run back to base.
Next week we will be out doing good again, it would be great if you could join us sign up here.
