The Outside this morning wasn't very inviting. As I stared out with tea in hand, the Inside stared too and said to me "isn't it amazing how rain can travel sideways..."

But I didn't listen to the Inside. For one, they don't get out much, and for two, I had business with the lovely Ms C. And the weather was just a mild nuisance, because having met Ms C twice before, I knew how lovely she is and wanted the pleasure of a quick chat.

Which is what we did when I arrived to take down her list of essentials and grab some bags. Rain seems lighter when conversation is full and good.

A short hop to and around the big Sainsbury's later, and I was back with two bags destined for Ms C's cupboards, fridge, and freezer. Essentials that should keep out the cold for a good few days.

And then it was back to Greenwich, over the Heath, and into the Inside, where tea and warmth were welcome friends.

Nice one.
