Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Alex Murtough (he/him)
I was pretty excited for this evening's mission.
Sat at my kitchen table with just my (albeit friendly) laptop for company, getting out for a little GG tourism always sounds tantalising. And this evening was the best of weathers for running - rain and lots of it. Lovely.
Plus I was off to NW3. Which made me think of N-Dubz. Remember them? I do, probably because I had hair back in the noughties. But any, digression ain't good when it's introspective (a classic N-Dubz line) and I must move onto a lovely evening spent running, shopping, and meeting Ms M.
I arrived at Ms M's a little damper than when I left Greenwich. Not that Ms M mentioned it - she's too kind for that. And she's also one organised lady too. Bag for life, plastic wrapper of money, neatly laid out list. She handed them over with a smile, a wink, and a look that said "now I've done my bit of the bargain, sonny, and I've done it well, now it's over to you..."
Ok, fine, I suppose that could be my insecurities. But isn't life more fun when you imagine you're in a Western?
Anyway. Onward to Sainsbury's I went. Quick I was too - but only because Ms M's list and directions were so clear - out within 30 minutes and back to Ms M's within the hour. A quick smile and a few good night wishes later and I was onto my journey back towards the South East. Happy that I'd explored a new part, done a little rain-running (the best), and met Ms M.
Nice one.
