Find out about GoodGym TaskForce

Share the love

For the second run of 2014 our challenge was a longer run to Easton Community Garden. Easton Community Garden is an amazing place, that supports volunteers from all walks of life to grow food. The harvest is then shared between everyone that contributes. Amazing huh?

We met at Roll for the Soul as usual, and then after a quick warm up and introductions, we ran through Castle Park and then along the cycle path to the allotment, stopping from some extreme star jumps on the way.

At the Community Garden we split into multiple groups and got masses done. One group emptied moved a large fridge to be used as a planter, another group did some speed weeding of a vegetable patch, another group flattened an area, while another group cleared an area of brambles and overgown grasses, we all then joined forces to clear a bank around the fence line. We got loads done!

We then ran back down the cycle path, setting a good pace, and back to Roll for the Soul. It was great to see so many people again, with some old faces mixed in with some new ones. The run was much further than last week, and paired with a really physical task everyone did brilliantly. For next week’s run we’re going to Clifton to lend a hand to the mall gardens. Everyone welcome!
